Register Your National Provider Identifier (NPI) Online!
NPI Online Submission
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) mandated that the Secretary of Health and Human Services adopt a standard unique health identifier for health care providers. As a result, all health care providers who are HIPAA-covered entities must obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) to identify themselves in standard electronic transactions by May 23, 2007. The NPI will replace health care provider identifiers that are in use today in standard transactions. These transactions include claims, eligibility inquiries and responses, claim status inquiries and responses, referrals, and remittance advices. Implementation of the NPI will eliminate the need for health care providers to use different identification numbers to identify themselves when conducting HIPAA standard transactions with multiple health plans.

Once you have finished completing the spreadsheet, please send it to Care1stnpi@care1st.com. Please identify the contact person name, title, and phone by which they can be reached. Once the file is received, you will receive receipt confirmation from the NPI.
